Information

Nowadays, the glass processed by the tempering furnace can be seen everywhere, and its performance is improved, but many people say that they don't know how to distinguish tempered glass from ordinary glass. Next, let me take you to a brief understanding.

  1. How to distinguish tempered glass from ordinary glass

  1. Look at the glass sign

Look at whether there is a toughened 3C mark on the corners of the glass. The 3c mark (the kind that cannot be scraped off) is basically toughened glass. The processing procedure of tempered glass is to first cut ordinary float glass to the required size, then edging, cleaning, and marking the national compulsory certification ccc mark with ink. processing. In general, the ink cannot be scraped off after passing through the high temperature. (If the 3C logo on your home glass can be wiped off by hand, it can basically be concluded that it is fake tempered glass)

2, see if it is slightly deformed

Check whether the glass is slightly deformed from the side, because the glass will be slightly deformed after being fired at a high temperature. This can only be seen from the side of the glass, and the front is generally not easy to see.

  3. Look at the shards of glass

Ordinary glass is broken into large pieces, with sharp corners, and it is easy to hurt people. After the toughened glass is broken, it is granular, with blunt edges and corners, and it is not easy to hurt people.

  2. Toughened glass is divided according to its shape:

Flat tempered glass and curved tempered glass.

Generally, the commonly used flat tempered glass has eight thicknesses of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, and 19mm; the more commonly used curved surface tempered glass has four thicknesses of 5, 6, 8, 10mm.

Three, toughened glass is divided by process:

  Physical toughening and chemical toughening.

Physical tempered glass is made by passing ordinary flat glass or float glass through a tempering furnace under specific process conditions, and then processed by a quenching method or an air-cooling quenching method. Chemically tempered glass is processed by ion exchange method of ordinary flat glass or float glass to change the molecules on the glass surface to form a laminated stress layer on the glass surface.

Fourth, the characteristics of tempered glass:

  1. High impact resistance

4 to 5 times higher than ordinary glass; high bending strength, 5 times higher than ordinary flat glass; good thermal stability, can withstand temperature changes of 200 ℃; and smooth, transparent, non-cutting and other characteristics. When it is damaged by a super impact, the fragments are in the form of scattered fine particles without sharp edges and corners, so it is also called safety glass.

2, the tempered glass will be slightly thinner after tempering.

The reason for the thinning is that after the glass is melted and softened, it is rapidly cooled by strong wind, so that the crystal gap inside the glass becomes smaller and the pressure becomes larger, so the glass is thinner after tempering than before tempering. Generally, 4-6MM glass becomes 0.2-0.8MM thinner after tempering, and 8-19MM glass becomes 0.9-1.8MM thinner after tempering. The specific level depends on the equipment.

The above is the method of distinguishing tempered glass and ordinary glass organized by the editor, I hope it will be helpful to everyone. The performance of the tempered glass processed by the tempering furnace will be improved to a certain extent, but it also has a certain self-detonation rate. You must be careful when installing and using it.
